The Racial Diversity of Mexicans

Mexico has been inhabited for thousands of years, with Native Americans settling in what is now present-day Mexico from Siberia, leading to creation of prosperous & successful civilizations like the Aztecs, Tarascans, Olmecs, Maya, etc.

Mexico was conquered by the Spanish in 1519, with Hernan Cortes conquering the whole entire Aztec Empire, some Sub-Saharan African slaves were brought to the colony, which lead to a lot of interracial mixing mainly between the White Spaniards & the Native Americans, creating the Mestizos, as the colonial population began getting more mixed, a new Casta system was created, which put the Peninsulares (the Spaniards born in Spain) at the top, & the African slaves & the Native Americans at the bottom.

After Mexico gained it's Independence from Spain in 1821, the Casta system was abolished, & most of the Peninsulares were expelled from the newly-independent Mexico, which mexican-born Spaniards, known as Criollos replaced the Peninuslares as the people running the country.

Many European ethnicities such as the French (from the French invasion of Mexico), the Irish (from the San Patricios), the Germans (from the era of Porfirio Diaz), as well as Chinese immigrants, & Filipinos brought to Mexico during the Spanish colonial era, & more recent Lebanese, Poles, Jews & other immigrants settling in Mexico.

All of this made Mexico into a huge melting pot of races & ethnicities, but however, in areas like parts of the United States, there's a false perception that Mexican is both a race & ethnicity, which is neither, Mexican is just a nationality, if you are born in Mexico or have naturalized Mexican citizenship, then your Mexican, but the term Mexican can also apply to their descendants in the United States, also known as Chicanos, which myself I'm included.

See, I was born in California, to two parents from Jalisco & Michoacan who immigrated to the the United States in the 1980s, I'm a 2nd-generation American, or a maybe a 3rd-generation American, since two of my grandparents also immigrated here as well, & my family is all from Mexico, but come in many different phenotypes, some look very mestizo, some look predominantly White, some look a bit more Native American, & others looked part Black, so there's are all races in my family, but we are all mexicans & chicanos.

I estimate the racial makeup of Mexico to be 72% Mestizo, 19% Native American, 7% White, & 2% Black,

So that being said, let me show you photos of the Racial diversity of Mexicans:
